Recently, BOB has released two new jogging strollers Revolution Flex and Revolution Pro. Both models are an upgrade to the beloved Revolution SE.
The updated models have such minor changes, that I don’t know why BOB felt the need to give them new names.
Now, I think it’s even more confusing with so many similar models out there. Anyway, the main change that both Flex and Pro have is an adjustable handlebar with nine different positions.
Aside from different colors the Pro model has a hand brake attached to the handlebar while Flex does not. That’s it! The addition of the adjustable handlebar did increase the weight a little. Other than that it stayed ABSOLUTELY the same.
Just like SE, the Pro model features a huge oversized canopy, roomy seat, large basket, and adjustable 5-point harness. The large basket underneath the seat is not the only storage.
It also has two mesh pockets inside of the seat for your child to store his toys and a large mesh pocket in the back for parents to store their essentials.
The seat can accommodate a child from 3 months and up to 70 lbs. If you want to use it from birth you can turn it into a travel system by purchasing a car seat adapter.
The most important feature of Pro is the wheels. It rolls on large air-filled tires with an adjustable state-of-the-art suspension system that provides a VERY smooth ride. From my experience, BOB has one of the best suspension systems on the market.
The front wheel is swivel but can be locked straight. The fold is very easy and as compact as it can be with a jogger.
This buggy weighs 28.2 lbs which is 3 lbs more than the SE model. I think the adjustable handlebar and the hand brake added some weight. For comparison, Flex weighs 26.2 lbs.
Having a hard time deciding between Pro and Flex models? If you think you will be going off-road and running up and down the hills a lot, then you should get a Pro model. The attached hand brake will give you the ability to slow down quickly.
If you prefer jogging in the park at an even pace, then I would get a Flex model to avoid having a hand brake getting in the way.
BTW, the Flex model has more fun colors than the Pro and comes with a black frame while the Pro comes only with a silver frame. I absolutely love the black frame. I think it makes the stroller look more modern and stylish.
OVERALL
Just like Flex, the Pro model got 5 out of 5 stars from me because it’s simply the best jogging stroller on today’s market. One of the things I would change would be adding an automatic lock.
Less important changes would be replacing a noisy Velcro closure for the viewing window with a magnetic one and replacing the double strap recline with a one-hand lever recline. Other than that it’s an AMAZING stroller.
The Pro comes in three colors and retails for around $499. Since this is a new model, there are not many sales. I did see it selling for $480 on Amazon the other day, but I don’t know how long this sale will last.

Features
CANOPY
It has a large multi-position canopy that will provide your child with full sun protection. There is also a large viewing window made out of clear plastic. Unfortunately, the closure still has a noisy Velcro. Of course, I would like to see a magnetic closure instead.
HANDLEBAR
Just like the Flex model, Pro has an adjustable handlebar with 9 different positions. It goes from 34″ all the way up to 45″ from the ground. Shorter and taller parents will be happy.
It has a runaway strap attached to the handlebar that you can use as extra security to prevent your stroller from running away from you while you are jogging. This strap doubles as a lock when the stroller is folded.
HAND BRAKE
The hand-activated rear drum brakes are great for when you are jogging down the hills & inclines. This is why the Pro model weighs 2 lbs more than the Flex and doesn’t have the hand brake.
SEAT
The seat is very roomy and can accommodate a child from 6 months and up to 70 lbs. On BOB’s site, it says that you can put a child into the seat starting at 8 weeks.
I would recommend using an infant car seat instead till your baby is 6 months old because the seat will not provide needed support for a baby. It has a very deep recline operated by strap recline.
This is a little different from the regular strap recline where you need only one hand to recline the seat. On the Pro model, you will need to adjust two straps, one on each side using both hands.
Not my favorite recline. I prefer a one-hand lever recline that is much easier and faster to use. What I really like about ALL of the Revolution models is how durable and well-padded the seat is.
It’s made out of high-quality material with water repellent coating that makes it very easy to clean.
HARNESS
It has an adjustable padded 5-point harness with a center release buckle. I really like the thick padded on the shoulder straps.
BASKET
It has a large easy-to-access basket that will fit your large diaper bag. It’s very easy to access even when the seat is reclined.
STORAGE
There is a lot of storage on the Pro model. There is a large mesh pocket in the back of the seat where parents can store their essentials and two mesh pockets inside of the seat where your child can store his stuff. My daughter likes to keep her sippy cup in one of the pockets.
WHEELS
When it comes to Pro, it’s all about the wheels! It rolls on large air-filled high-impact polymer composite wheels with pneumatic tires that can handle ANY terrain while providing your child with a VERY smooth ride.
The rear wheels are 16″ while the front wheel is 12.5″. The front wheel is swivel with the ability to lock straight.
The state-of-the-art suspension system adjusts to two positions depending on the weight of your little passenger and the terrain. I’ve tested a lot of joggers and BOB Revolution has the BEST suspension system hands down.
BRAKE
There is a single-foot parking brake located between the rear wheels. One step on it will lock both rear wheels in place. It’s not flip-flop-friendly.
FOLD
It’s not a one-hand fold, but is easy to do. Unfortunately, it does not have an automatic lock and there is no standing fold. To lock the stroller after folding, you need to put it on the ground and use a strap with a clip attached to the handlebar.
Bending down to the ground to lock it is very annoying. Especially if you like me have back pain. As with any jogger, this package is very bulky. The folded dimensions are 39″L x 25.5″W x 16″H.
Cons
-Bulky. Like most joggers the Pro is bulky. You can remove the rear wheels to make it more compact.
-Heavy. The SE model wasn’t heavy weighing 25 lbs which is an average weight for a jogger. With all the upgrades Pro weighs now 28.2 lbs which is really on a higher end.
-Double strap recline. I would like to see a one-hand lever recline instead.
-No automatic lock. You will need to bend down to the ground and use an attached strap with a clip to lock it manually.

Thank you for the great website:) I was hoping for FT Mom advice. I live on the side of a mountain in Colorado so I am looking at getting two stollers – one AT/Jogger and one lightweight travel system compatible for the car and grocery stores etc. As it is very steep roads around me, I am thinking a handbrake is a must. So I have been looking at Bob Revolution Pro, Bob Sport Utility, P & T’s Navigator, Mountain Buggy Terrain, and BJ Summit XT. I like the Alpha Car seat but the Navigator does not seem to have suspension. I like the price of the Sport Utility but I am not sure about the locked front wheel. Other things I am considering is a bassinet option and I would really like it to have a seat that can go pretty upright. Would love your thoughts as I live 3+ hours away from any shops where I can test them.
Secondly, I am looking at the P&T Alpha Car Seat (although we have not bought yet) or possible the new Kiddy Evolution Car Seat (maybe too pricy but would last longer and maybe eliminate the need for a bassinet). Suggestions for the lightest stroller to be #2 that would function as a travel system with these? I like the VUE Lite but it only works with CityGo seat which I cannot find much info on. Thoughts?
Thank you in advance!
Hi Sarah. Out of all the joggers you listed I like the BOB Revolution Pro the best. It’s amazing jogger with state of the art suspension system. You don’t need to have permanently fixed wheel because you can lock and unlock it on Pro. The fold is also very compact for a jogger. In my opinion, a good stroller is much more important than a car seat because all the car seats are safe as long as they are installed correctly. BTW, 70% of all car seats installed incorrectly. I would pick strollers that you like first and see what car seat works with both of them. For a jogger I would get BOB Pro or if you are thinking about a second child I would get PT Navigator because it is the MOST compact double inline stroller. It has very narrow frame for a double stroller and is very easy to navigate.
Bassinet is really an optional feature. If you get a stroller with almost flat recline, you really don’t need a bassinet. YOu can get an infant insert and put your child right into the seat. For the lightweight stroller, I would get something like Vue (it works with many car seats). Another great option is getting Mamas&Papas Armadillo or Armadillo Flip – one of the most compact strollers on the market that has reversible seat and bassinet option.
Thank you! Have you tried the Thule Urban Glide? My friend just started using it and she loves it and says it is super light(23lbs). It does not have a hand brake but she says that does not bother her as it is light enough that she has not felt a problem on the hills (with the safety strap as back up).
Love the review. I was just wondering if the new Pro would need an adapter for the infant seats. I am getting the Britax B-Safe Infant Car Seat which does have the click and go technology… But I have no way of really knowing that I won’t need to buy and adapter for the Pro until I buy it and see it myself. I tried to Google it and that was a headache. Do any of you ladies know if I would need an adapter or not for the Pro?
Thanks so much :)

Hi Katrin!
Thank you so much for all of your information! I live in NYC and have decided to get the BOB revolution and the City Mini and I thought I was all set and done as I wanted to get the Cybex Aton 2 car seat since its so well rated but mostly because it works so great without the base for cabs but somehow i think i missed the fact that maybe the Aton doesn’t have an adapter for the BOB? is that still true? Help! :) I can’t see any other car seat that is as lightweight and euro styled so good for urban/cab life that are as good so welcome any advice!!! Thank you sooo much!!
I’d be curious as to why you would choose the Bob Pro over the Mountain Buggy terrain?
