Mountain Buggy Cosmopolitan Geo Luxury Edition

The Mountain Buggy has just introduced their new Cosmopolitan Geo Luxury Edition at the ABC Kids Expo 2015.

This luxury collection adds refined styling and enhances the functionality of a Mountain Buggy Cosmopolitan classic model.

In 2015, Mountain Buggy did the same to their popular Urban Jungle model by releasing a luxury collection that featured new stylish fabrics, accessories, and improved features.

To be honest, although I really like the Cosmopolitan stroller, I was never a big fan of its look. The fabrics, the frame lines, and the detailing were just not that impressive.

It looked very average and didn’t have a definitive luxurious style that they talked about on their site. You can say the word ‘luxury’ as many times as you want, but it doesn’t mean it will look any better.

So, when I so the new Geo Edition I couldn’t believe it was the same stroller. It looked completely different to me. This is a very stylish model with luxurious detailing and sophisticated style. The pattern reminds me of a Louis Vuitton signature checkerboard pattern.

I even thought maybe there was some kind of collaboration going on. But, there is none as far as I know. I also just found out that Louis Vuitton has recently lost the right to trademark its Damier checkerboard pattern in the European Union’s General Court. Interesting …

Anyway, I can actually see myself with Geo strolling down the street dressed all stylish in a hat and sunglasses. This model btw comes with a matching diaper bag that looks cute but would look much cuter if it had that checkerboard pattern. It would be almost like a Louis Vuitton diaper bag. Who doesn’t want a Loui?

Notice I don’t have any photos from the Expo? That’s because the staff would not allow anybody to take ANY photos. Insane! Why introduce a product that people can see, but can’t show others? So, sorry guys. These scanned images are all I have.

While I couldn’t get any of the photos for you, I got all of the info on the features. Let’s take a look. So, Geo has a reversible seat that unlike the original Cosmopolitan does NOT convert into a flat bed for a newborn.

Instead, it comes with a second set of fabrics that you can use with the frame of the seat to create a full-size carrycot. It also comes with a matching diaper bag that you can see in the photo below.

It can accommodate a child from birth and up to 44 lbs. It weighs 26 lbs with the seat and 27 lbs with a carrycot.

You can get it right now for around $899 and it comes with a bumper bar and a matching bag.

The Geo has 3-mode functionality: parent facing, forward facing, and carrycot modes. The carrycot can be used both on and off the stroller. The bassinet interior is made with pure bamboo fabric for better comfort and breathability. The carrycot comes with a winter liner.

Features

CANOPY

The canopy is a great size. It has two large panels with a third zipped in panel. There is also a large dark mesh peekaboo window with a magnetic closure.

HANDLEBAR

One of the things that I didn’t like about original Cosmopolitan was a non-adjustable handlebar. Well, they fixed it on Geo. Even a dog can adjust it now. LOL. It’s covered with soft black leather.

SEAT

It is 13″ wide with 17″seat back and 22″ from the bottom of the seat to the top of the canopy. The seat is one molded piece, so it keeps its ‘V’ shape when reclined.

It rolls on four wheels with 12″ wheels in the back and 8″ wheels in the front. The rear wheels are made out of Aerotech material which is a blend of rubber and EVA.

This puncture-proof combination provides almost air-filled smoothness without the maintenance.  The front wheels are swivel but could be locked straight. They are made out of never-flat EVA foam.

Just like the original model it has all-wheel suspension.

  1. Hi, thank you for your great reviews. I would like to ask your advice. I am debating between MB Geo and BJ City premier. Since you saw both, which one is better quality (smoother ride (better wheels and suspensions), better fabrics, lighter, nerrower back wheels width)
    Thank you in advance

  2. Can u recommend any car seat that will go with new-mountain-buggy-cosmopolitan-geo-2016-luxury-edition/ . I Thanks s lot

  3. Hey, Katrin! I love reading your blogs. Thank you for reviewing all these strollers. I have a question about MB Cosmo Geo. I am first time mom to be. I was curious if it’s a good option to buy this stroller. I really like it, but I’m between this, Stokke Scoot V2 and Nuna Mixx. Which one would work better for a newborn baby? What do you think? I’d really appreciate your help.
    Thanks in advance. :)
