The Maclaren BMW Buggy is a sleek luxury umbrella stroller that was created by Maclaren in collaboration with BMW! Yes, that BMW that makes expensive cars.
Right away, you know you can expect high quality and style. This buggy features a one-hand recline, 5-point harness, ergonomic seat liner, sporty-looking wheels, and all-wheel suspension.
When you pull into a playground, all the parents will know your little one is riding in a BMW because of the BMW logo located on the wheels, the buckle, and on both sides of the canopy.
This is a typical umbrella stroller with four hard rubber 5″ wheels that are designed for flat surfaces. While it’s great for running errands or going to the park or shopping mall, don’t expect it to handle grass or mulch too well.
It has an easy compact fold and weighs only 12.4 lbs, making it perfect for travel. The seat can hold a child from 6 months and up to 55 lbs. This stroller does NOT convert into a travel system.
OVERALL
I gave this buggy 4 out of 5 stars because of the small canopy, small basket, sticking-out wheels when folded, and the high price. My main problem is with the canopy.
Maclaren should add a pop-out sunvisor to it and give it the option of transforming into a ‘floating canopy’ as they did on the Techno XLR model.
Prepare your wallets, it’s NOT CHEAP. This limited edition buggy retails for around $385. I was not able to find it cheaper anywhere.
On the bright side, it will be very easy to convince your husband that this stroller is worth every penny as soon as he sees the BMW logo :) Honey, think of it as a car, not a stroller. LOL.

Features
CANOPY
It has a small canopy that is made out of high-quality water-resistant fabric. Two small viewing windows on both sides will allow you to peek at your child. There are two BMW logos located on both sides of the canopy.
There is really no peekaboo window for parents, but you can unzip the canopy in the back to expose a small white mesh that will provide better air circulation. The canopy is attached to the back of the seat and has no ability to become a ‘floating canopy’.
It doesn’t provide that much shade, so you will probably need to get a canopy extension.
HANDLEBARS
Two non-adjustable handlebars are located 41″ from the ground which is great for taller parents. They are covered with foam material.
SEAT
The seat is 13″ wide with a 19″ seat back and a measurement of 25″ from the bottom of the seat to the top of the canopy. The leg drop is 10″. It has a one-hand recline that is adjusted with a strap system.
You will need to use both hands to bring the seat back up. It has a deep recline, but the seat doesn’t go to a flat position. You can use it from 6 months and up to 55 lbs.
It has an ergonomic sporty-looking seat liner that mimics the interior of a BMW. It is removable.
There is a zipper pocket in the back of the seat for small mommy essentials like keys and wallet.
HARNESS
It has an adjustable padded 5-point harness with a BMW LOGO buckle! I absolutely I absolutely love how durable and wide the straps are.
BASKET
Maclaren is known for its small baskets and BMW Buggy is not an exception. You can probably fit some baby essentials, but not your diaper bag. The basket is hard to access especially if the seat is fully reclined.
WHEELS
BMW rolls on four 5″ hard rubber double wheels. The front wheels are swivel wheels that can be locked in straight for more stability.
Like most umbrella strollers, it is not designed for all terrains and does best on a flat surface. BTW, all wheels have that cool BMW logo in the middle. :)
The all-wheel suspension will help to absorb some of the bumps, but this is not the same suspension system you see on jogging or all-terrain strollers.
BRAKE
It has two parking brakes on top of the rear wheels. Both brakes will lock both rear wheels. It is not flip-flop friendly.
FOLD
It folds like most umbrella strollers. You will need to step on the crossbar in the back and fold it forward. There is an automatic lock, but it does not have a standing fold. There is a shoulder strap so you can carry it over your shoulder.
It is a very light stroller that weighs only 12.4 lbs. The only thing you should be careful of is the wheels that stick out very far. It’s easy to hit someone in the head. LOL.
It’s only 12.4 lbs, which is average for an umbrella stroller. It is great for parents who live in an urban environment and like to travel a lot.
Cons
-Small canopy. I wish the canopy was a little larger, maybe with a pop-out sunvisor, and had a ‘floating’ option. A Peekaboo window would be also nice.
-Small basket. Most of the umbrella strollers have a small basket, so this is no surprise. However, it would be nice to have at least a medium size basket that is easy to access.
-Fold. When folded, the wheels stick out way too much. I would like to see a strap that would hold them closer together.
-High price. Every time the BMW logo is on anything it costs 50% more. Well, the BMW Buggy is not an exception. I think it is definitely overpriced for the features you are getting.

Where to buy it
You can get a Maclaren BMW Buggy in one of the three beautiful colors for $385. Since this is a luxury stroller, I didn’t see any good sales.
Just to let you know.. the hood unzips to make an extended canopy..! I didn’t realise for 8 months 😂
